The City of Hevron has a special and central place in the history of Am Yisrael.  It is the place where the bond between the Jewish People and the Land of Israel began.  

This bond is eternal and has continued for thousands of years.  Hevron, is the site where Our Avot and Imahot, who are the roots of our nation, are buried.  Mearat HaMachpela and the fields surrounding it were purchased by Avraham Avinu about 3800 years ago as a burial site.  

This was the first purchase of land in Eretz Yisrael.
